Thoughts

Aunty Zan – There are special people in our lives who never leave us … even after they have gone. Your humility, generosity and strength of spirit, driven by love of family and grounded in your strong faith have always inspired us. A ‘Ploughman’s Lunch’ or ‘Pate and cheese’ (not to mention Elderberry wine) will always remind us of the many UK adventures we shared with you and Gordon. It’s hard to imagine coming to England and you not being there. Much love always, Dot and Jeff.

Remembering a very special lady who we all loved very much. Aunty Zan touched every person in her own special way. She had a gentle way with her. Loved to know how you and your family were. She would remember birthdays and special events. We will all miss visiting when we come to England next! We were all so grateful for her love and support through the years. Love to all the family Anne Andrew Luke Jackie Ava and Jaycob.

Writing by Canon Henry Scott Holland: ‘Death is nothing at all…. I have only slipped away into the next room … I am I, and you are you, what ever we were to each other, that we still are. Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference in your tone; wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word it always was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was; there is absolutely unbroken continuity. What is death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well.
